Welcome to RaggedyAnnie’s website. Annie is a textile artist based in Elland, a Pennine village in West Yorkshire.

She is a designer/maker/tutor, running courses at a number of venues and making and selling work, including commissioned pieces.

Annie has been running textile art and rag rugging courses for many years, both from her previous home in the middle of the North York Moors, her studios and a variety of other settings including schools, museums and the Halifax Piece Hall. The courses she ran at the Piece Hall last year were ranked amongst the top five eco-friendly craft activities in the country by ‘The Guardian’ newspaper.

She has designed, produced and sold her work for many years, as well as writing freelance articles for Classic Stitches Magazine and designing embroidery kits for Anchor Threads/Coats Crafts UK. She is passionate about embroidery and textiles – in particular rag rugging and metal thread/goldwork embroidery. For many years she combined this with a nursing career, but now concentrates solely on her textile interests.

Her work is sold via a number of galleries, and also by commission. She has exhibited at the Knitting and Stitching Show in London and Harrogate.
