Half-Term Hol’s
Wow, have I had a busy week ?!!
The school holidays are always lively times here because it means that those who can’t normally make it to mid-week courses i.e. children and teachers and people who work full-time, are able to come and have a day out here at Chellow Dene .
The week started with Janet and her talented grandchildren. Adam had already decided he wanted to create a picture of the Sir Nigel Gresley steam train in silk painting – quite a challenge, but fabulous result ! ….

Emma wanted to make a peg angel, a felt reindeer, and do some silk painting ….

Jayne and her family decided to make raggy wreaths, we had a stunning selection by the end of the session ….

Anna and Jo came for a session making ‘Quilt as you go ‘ panels, with the plan to put them together to make a book cover …

…. they went away with an assortment of panels plus a machine pieced and quilted cushion cover which Jo had managed to almost complete in the session !

…she went away with plans to buy her own sewing machine !
Christmas has officially started … I have now held two Christmas rag rugging courses, and we have many more to come ! These courses are always really popular and people do make some fabulous pieces of work – rag rug wreaths, Christmas trees and decorations.
These are some of the results from Saturday’s course at The Fabbadashery …

…and these are the beautiful pieces made on Sunday when Joan and her daughters Karen and Anna came for the day ….

And finally, it’s always great to see what people have gone on to create after they have attended my courses, Lindsay started this piece on my ‘Hooked and Prodded Landscapes’ course and has sent me this picture of the finished hanging …. beautiful !!
