Metamorphosis
It is certainly the time of year for dragonflies. The Azure Damselflies were darting about in the sunshine over The Cascade Bridge at The Yorkshire Sculpture Park this weekend, so beautiful.
Moving almost as quickly were the wonderful selection of dragonflies at The Fabbadashery. This is how they looked during the day …..

….. and by bedtime Nicola’s dragonfly looked like this ….

… ( along with her goldwork bee and fish !).
And Helen’s dragonfly looked like this ….

…. wow !!!!!
Sally-Anne and Janet came here for the day to learn Locker Hooking and Rug Hooking …..

We also managed to fit in a bit of Crazy Patchwork too, Sally-Anne’s work metamorphosed from this …..

….. into this ……. !

…. and she’s addicted !!
And a quick look at the best of the rest for this week ( before I go and house-sit for Tom who is having a new bathroom fitted – I don’t know what was wrong with the turquoise 1970’s number !).
Our New Library Textile Group met at Bankfield Museum in Halifax for a change (mainly textiles, well worth a visit).

Liz, Elaine and I spent a day at a local school as part of the same project. Three actors also attended, playing the part of notable Halifax people from history …

The rest of the day was spent working on a variety of craft activities which everyone seemed to enjoy !

Sharon attended a Quilt As You Go day recently and has just emailed a picture of her completed hanging …..

…. amazing ! As is Emily’s completed Crewelwork ….

Quick advance warning of a course which is coming up …. ‘Cupcakes and Beach Huts’. This is applique and hand embroidery, inspired by the work of Poppy Treffrey and Abigail Mill, but worked by hand rather than machine ….

And finally, I just wanted to show you this amazing black trailing petunia I’ve put in one of my hanging baskets. It is a proper jet black and looks (and feels) like velvet. Amazing !!
